Fulham:

Since getting promoted two seasons ago, Fulham have already established themselves as a mid-table Premier League side. Marco Silva has finally brought stability to what used to be a yo-yo team. On paper, Fulham have a very strong and deep squad. Defensively they are very solid, thanks to heavy investment last summer, however offensively they lack pace and flair. On the right hand side, Fulham have good depth, but on the left-wing they lack speed and directness. At the moment, Iwobi is their sole left-winger, therefore Fulham should look to sign a left-winger who offers something different than Iwobi. This winger needs to be fast, agile, skillful, not afraid to take on his defender, be right footed and can press high up the field. The young Moroccan left-winger from Monaco, Elisse Ben-Seghir would be an ideal fit for the London outfit. He brings youthfulness to an aging squad and offers Marco Silva a different option on the left hand side.

Leeds United:

After a very impressive season last year in the Championship, Leeds United are in very good shape to survive relegation this year. Under Frank, Leeds play a very entertaining brand of football, with an emphasis on dominating possession and creating overloads on the flank. However, in the Premier League, Leeds will find it much harder to instill this style of play. Leeds will most likely be put under pressure and need to practice maintaining their defensive shape and limiting space to the opposing attackers. Thus, Leeds should look to invest into defensive minded players with prior experience in the Premier League. On top of this, lasts season, Meslier made a series of high profile errors, and making those sort of errors cost more in Prem than they would in the Championship. Consequently, Leeds should look to sign a new Goalkeeper. At the moment there is one obvious choice on the market. Although this Goalkeeper already suffered 3 previous relegations, he has previously played at a very high level in the club and national team level. He would only cost $20-$25 million, fits Frank’s possession based system and would be a great leader in the dressing room. His name is Aaron Ramsdale.

Liverpool:

Having already made a few blockbuster signings this window, Liverpool probably won’t dip into the market anymore, unless if it’s for the right player at the right price. On paper, Liverpool’s team is one of the best in the world. They’ve just improved every position which needed improving, so why would they spend more money this window? Well with rumors circling that Konaté will leave at the end of his contract next year, and Van Dijk not getting any younger, it might be sensible for Liverpool to sign a long-term center-back this season. This would help him get adjusted to the Prem this season and then can take over the reigns next year. Finding this center-back is difficult as he needs to have the quality to play in Premier League now, but is also young and not too expensive. However, I believe I have found this center-back. His name is Giorgio Scalvini. Scalvini didn’t play much football last season due to a long-term injury, but, in the previous season, played a key role in Gasperini’s system at only 19 years old. Scalvini is very calm on the ball, anticipates opponent’s movements and passing intentions at a high level, is not scared to play balls into the channels and although he doesn’t look menacing he goes in very strong in the tackle. These are all metrics which Slot looks for in a center back. He would only cost about $35 million, due to his lack of recent game-time, which is a fraction of the cost if they sign him next season. Seems like a no brainer to me.
